A saliva drug test is a lot easier to pass than any other kind of drug test, so there’s really no excuse for failing one. But I have a sad story about someone who managed to fail one anyway, and I think it’s a good cautionary tale. It was a situation that could have been avoided SO easily – if this guy had only taken his saliva drug test more seriously.
Ryan’s Saliva Drug Test Fiasco
This all happened a couple of months ago. Ryan bought my e-book on a Monday, and he had a pre-employment drug test coming up on Thursday that same week. The reason I know this is because he emailed me on that Monday with a question after he read my e-book.
Turns out he was having a combination drug test and physical. Ryan’s lab appointment was for 8 a.m. on Thursday, and he mentioned that the instructions he’d been given said for him not to eat or drink anything after 10 p.m. the night before, except for water, plain coffee or plain tea. For some reason (I have no idea why) this made him absolutely certain that he was going to be given a piss test, and he had some questions about that. In his email he didn’t mention anything about passing a saliva drug test, and I could tell it wasn’t on his mind at all.
Weird Saliva Test Requirement?
Now, before this happened I’d never heard of someone being told not to eat or drink anything before coming in for their drug test, so it’s obviously pretty rare. And from everything I know about how to pass a drug test (which is a lot), there’s no hard evidence that what you eat makes a bit of difference in any drug test method. But knowing what I know specifically about how saliva drug tests work, common sense told me that the only possible test it might be required for would be a mouth swab.
So I emailed Ryan back right away and I told him that although I didn’t have any direct knowledge of this requirement, I was 99% certain that he needed to follow the method I give for beating a saliva drug test. I also told him he could prepare for a urine test at the same time if it would make him feel more secure, since the two methods don’t interfere with each other in any way. But it’s just SO EASY to pass a saliva test if you prepare for it, so I really tried to get across to him that he needed to do this, just in case I was right. (And I also reassured him that it is impossible for labs to detect when someone uses the methods I give, so he didn’t need to worry about that.)
A Saliva Test Horror Story…
Well, you can probably already see where this is going. Yup, sure enough, he was given a saliva drug test – which he hadn’t done any preparation for AT ALL – and he failed his test. I have no idea why he didn’t take my advice. False confidence? Maybe a touch of laziness? He sent me another email after he got his test results and admitted that he was a complete idiot for not listening to me. But this is one time when I really would have preferred to be wrong, because he missed out on a really good job as a result of all this.
So, long story short, Ryan and I kept in touch and fortunately things did eventually work out for him I’m happy to say. He finally got another job offer about a week ago, AND he had to pass another drug test. But this time they told him upfront that he was getting a urine test, so he followed the instructions in my e-book for that (again) and passed with no problem. He sounds pretty happy with the job he ended up with, but I don’t think he’d want to go through all that grief again if he had it to do over.
So what’s the moral of poor Ryan’s story? Just that even if passing a saliva drug test is really easy, you MUST take them seriously, folks. You and I know that it’s complete insanity for employers to be wigged out about the humble weed, but the fact is that there are a lot of insane people who pull the strings and decide who gets hired and who gets to keep their job. And like I said before – this sooo did not have to happen, because a saliva drug test is so freakin’ easy to pass.
How To Pass A Saliva Drug Test – The Easy Way
You want to know just how easy it is? You can beat 95% of all saliva tests just by not smoking for about 3 days. Sometimes even less, if you happen to be a light smoker. So don’t bother spending your money on outrageously expensive ‘saliva cleansing’ products (that almost never work anyway!!).
p.s. By the way – if a lab ever gives you instructions not to eat or drink before you go in for your drug test, JUST IGNORE THEM. They’re only asking because they want to get the most accurate results possible. So if your goal is beat a saliva drug test, why help the lab?

I have a saliva test coming up on monday, i am a casual smoker but i have managed to avoid my old friend completely for about 6 days now. i am just wondering if body fat percentages play a variable in this equation. I am no more than 20 lbs over weight but i can not leave anything to chance on monday. Is there any need to feel worried, and if so is there anything i can consume short of swishing peroxide on monday morning? Will flushing my system with water or vinegar help my odds?

be aware that some times, like my test, you have to leave the swab in your mouth til its soaked so it can be squeezed out. That’s all new saliva being made by your body. I swished also before the test and it wouldn’t have made a diff. It took about 4 minutes. It was about 6 days since I had real smoke before that, and icky resin 2 days before. I passed. I wouldn’t bother drinking the viniger for this. Good luck and tell us what happens. Just in case they dont sit rite there with you, bring a little cap of water somehow in your pocket and stick it in there.

Okay..I applied for Charter in GA. Im not sure if they are doing urine or swab..From my research I think it may be swab. Im not worried about the urine..I got that. But the swab got me a lil nervous. So I smoked last on Friday afternoon. It was half of a joint. And I smoke a joint everyday for the past year..I have been brushing and gargling so far. And I drink water regularly. Okay i heard utting altoids in your mouth helps. But if they test on Monday do you think I have a chance at passing? Also I will post my results.

I just had to give a oral saliva Intercept drug test. My po said if it comes back how I will be violated. I did not smoke for 6 days before the test I mouth washed, smoked a cigar, and rinsed my moth out with sure-gel before it was given. Im 290 pounds should I be cool. the website said 72 hours but my last test was dirty and I quit before that.

I haven’t smoked in 6 days, I have a test tomorrow morning. I bought some stuff called Stats, that is supposed to clear me out for urine, blood and saliva. I only paid $21, and it’s 5 pills. You take them all within ten minutes and no more than 32oz. of water on an empty stomach. The only thing that sucks is I cannot have any caffine. I am still really nervous.

I have to take these tests every week at the methadone clinic I go to, they are part of the program requirement. What all of you are failing to realize is that these tests do not test saliva. They test cells. That’s why you have to swab the inside of your cheek for 30sec. before holding it between your cheek. All you have to do is get some of that teeth whitening bleach and coat the inside of your cheek and teeth with the stuff before taking the test. And of course you want to wipe away as many of those loose cheek cells as possible before going in there so brush the shit out of the inside of your mouth and rinse and spit them out immediately before you put the bleach in and then walk in the door. You should do all of this in the parking lot!!! BTW the bleach burns like hell! But I’ve yet to fail one in 2years. YOUR WELCOME!!

I have quit smoking for about almos 25 days and then i smoked again on saturday Feb. 13th of 2010. i smoked about two fat bowls and and i have a swab test comming up for a job that i really need at the time and im told ill have to go in about 5 to 7 days from now and im kinda skech about it because i cant fail but i wanna see if anyone would possibly know my chances of passing it i brush my teeth and swish mouth wash around and i hope that help a lot but any tips would help out?

Here is the thing: i am not a heavy smoker and def dont do it to get high i have bad back issues and it puts me to sleep. the last time i smoked was on a tuesday and had the test thursday. im little like 5 feet and weigh about 120…did i pass? more than a job depends on it….

So, I just took a saliva test today for Lowes, I didn’t know I even had the interview until yesterday and so I was only able to stop smoking for one day. I had no idea I’d be taking the test today so I didn’t do anything in preparation. The last time I smoked was on Monday, and I smoked every day before that… Lets see if I pass. I had a drug test today I thought it would me a urine test but it was a saliva test so when I was filling out my paper work I asked to use the bathroom…while in there i put listerine breath strips all over the inside of my mouth on my checks and tongue when they gave me the swab they told me to put next to my checks and gums for 2 min i put next to my checks for like a few seconds and than I held with my teeth in my mounth the rest of the time it did touch my tongue a little bit…Ive never took one of these test before WILL I PASS?…o and I smoked the night before last and the day before that and took the test today… PLEASE RESPOND thanks

I am taking mine tomorrow for a job, last step is the dt and background check. I am a hxc heavy smoker, but have limited myself the last two weeks in attempts to pass for the job. okay so i was surprised when at the end of my interview the manager said and now for your oral drug test. she had a this stick with an absorbent pad on the end and directed me to put between rear teeth bite down for 3 min. She wasn’t really observant and failed to notice that i had the stick in between my front teeth and left the absorbent pad floating in my mouth without touching anything! Im just worried that the test will come back with no saliva detection ????????????? SHOULD I BE WORRIED?

I am a 47 year old plus size woman. I smoke pot approximately 6 times a year. It is a recreational thing. Recently there was a tragedy in my life. I smoked to get thru it. On 02/05/10 I purchased a $20 bag, and when I roll up a smoke, I use about 70% cigarette tobacco and about 30% pot. Since I am not a user this is enough to suit my needs. It took me 12 days to finish this amount. Smoking just a bit every day. It had been about 2 months prior to that date that I had previously smoked anything. I stopped on 02/17/10 and have not touched any since. I now have a drug test that will be a siliva swab on 02/24/10 so it will be 7 days since I have had it in my system. I purchaced an over the counter urine test and it resulted positive. I have read on your site that you can past this swab test in about 3 days of not using. The count down is on now, and I am concerned. Please contact me with your advice. Thank you.

The best advice I can give you people is STOP MAKING THIS ‘HABIT’ AN ADDICTION AND MAKE IT A HOBBY!!!! Going this route you will have no worries because You KNOW you need a JOB so put the drug down until you get one! It’s the most logical way

so, i had my husband pee in a cup for me and had it all prepped for my urin drug test (for a j-o-b)… i showed up and SURPRISE it was a “lollipop test” oral. i fucking got so nervouse and at the last second i sucked on some lipgloss and put hand sanitizer in mymouth!!!!!! lol it sucked i hope i passed i smoke all the time. 12 hours before the test.. let you know how it goes guys.. good luck

If they test for the presence of estrogen, of course they’ll see it. But the point is, they DON’T.
Each separate thing they test adds on to the cost for employers or whoever is paying for the test, so unless the buyer specifically requests something it doesn’t get tested. But they just want to know if a test is negative or positive, that’s all.

i used to do piss tests and blood tests for drugs at a hospital in a lab, and never once when looking for drugs did i test for estrogen levels, never anything except for drugs, and mostly basic opiates, benzos, amphetamines, barbituates, cocaine and “THC”. and unless a doc asked for a specific drug, we didn’t do it, and specific drugs are very expensive to test for, believe me it’s a 1/9,999,999 (figure pulled from my ass) chance company is going to test for a specific drug. estrogen testing is not expensive, but when you wave your right to a drug test for employment, just make sure in the form you don’t wave right for your estrogen to be tested, they will never ask you to though.

I have been a heavy marijuana smoker for the past 8 years or so and never had to take a pre-employment drug screening. now i do and the test there giving is a saliva test. i havent smoked since monday and the test is on tuesday.. my weight is around 150 lbs. so there isn’t much fat on my body for it to be stored in.. do you think if i quit fot 2-3 days i should be alright.. also i do alot of cardio so i sweat my balls off at the gym… r my chances good?????/

Just to get this clear, you guys know these test find much more than THC right?. One of the main things that shows in the results is alcohol. Meaning if you use mouthwash, breath strips, Binaca,or just plain ol’ wiskey etc… it shows up as well and they know it is a corrupted test.

Well I haven’t smoked in 2+months. N this last wk I couldn’t take not sleepin anymore. I’ve hit my bowl mayb 8x in last wk.
