A saliva drug test is a lot easier to pass than any other kind of drug test, so there’s really no excuse for failing one. But I have a sad story about someone who managed to fail one anyway, and I think it’s a good cautionary tale. It was a situation that could have been avoided SO easily – if this guy had only taken his saliva drug test more seriously.
Ryan’s Saliva Drug Test Fiasco
This all happened a couple of months ago. Ryan bought my e-book on a Monday, and he had a pre-employment drug test coming up on Thursday that same week. The reason I know this is because he emailed me on that Monday with a question after he read my e-book.
Turns out he was having a combination drug test and physical. Ryan’s lab appointment was for 8 a.m. on Thursday, and he mentioned that the instructions he’d been given said for him not to eat or drink anything after 10 p.m. the night before, except for water, plain coffee or plain tea. For some reason (I have no idea why) this made him absolutely certain that he was going to be given a piss test, and he had some questions about that. In his email he didn’t mention anything about passing a saliva drug test, and I could tell it wasn’t on his mind at all.
Weird Saliva Test Requirement?
Now, before this happened I’d never heard of someone being told not to eat or drink anything before coming in for their drug test, so it’s obviously pretty rare. And from everything I know about how to pass a drug test (which is a lot), there’s no hard evidence that what you eat makes a bit of difference in any drug test method. But knowing what I know specifically about how saliva drug tests work, common sense told me that the only possible test it might be required for would be a mouth swab.
So I emailed Ryan back right away and I told him that although I didn’t have any direct knowledge of this requirement, I was 99% certain that he needed to follow the method I give for beating a saliva drug test. I also told him he could prepare for a urine test at the same time if it would make him feel more secure, since the two methods don’t interfere with each other in any way. But it’s just SO EASY to pass a saliva test if you prepare for it, so I really tried to get across to him that he needed to do this, just in case I was right. (And I also reassured him that it is impossible for labs to detect when someone uses the methods I give, so he didn’t need to worry about that.)
A Saliva Test Horror Story…
Well, you can probably already see where this is going. Yup, sure enough, he was given a saliva drug test – which he hadn’t done any preparation for AT ALL – and he failed his test. I have no idea why he didn’t take my advice. False confidence? Maybe a touch of laziness? He sent me another email after he got his test results and admitted that he was a complete idiot for not listening to me. But this is one time when I really would have preferred to be wrong, because he missed out on a really good job as a result of all this.
So, long story short, Ryan and I kept in touch and fortunately things did eventually work out for him I’m happy to say. He finally got another job offer about a week ago, AND he had to pass another drug test. But this time they told him upfront that he was getting a urine test, so he followed the instructions in my e-book for that (again) and passed with no problem. He sounds pretty happy with the job he ended up with, but I don’t think he’d want to go through all that grief again if he had it to do over.
So what’s the moral of poor Ryan’s story? Just that even if passing a saliva drug test is really easy, you MUST take them seriously, folks. You and I know that it’s complete insanity for employers to be wigged out about the humble weed, but the fact is that there are a lot of insane people who pull the strings and decide who gets hired and who gets to keep their job. And like I said before – this sooo did not have to happen, because a saliva drug test is so freakin’ easy to pass.
How To Pass A Saliva Drug Test – The Easy Way
You want to know just how easy it is? You can beat 95% of all saliva tests just by not smoking for about 3 days. Sometimes even less, if you happen to be a light smoker. So don’t bother spending your money on outrageously expensive ‘saliva cleansing’ products (that almost never work anyway!!).
p.s. By the way – if a lab ever gives you instructions not to eat or drink before you go in for your drug test, JUST IGNORE THEM. They’re only asking because they want to get the most accurate results possible. So if your goal is beat a saliva drug test, why help the lab?

(for marijuana) If you know about the swab test coming up, then my best advice, of course, is to get clean for (at least) one week prior. Use hydrogen peroxide or LISTERINE as a mouthwash for about one minute after brushing your WHOLE mouth(dont forget to floss ;D ). I would use the brown or blue listerine.
IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHEN your swab test will be: then invest in a travel size bottle of listerine (and toothbrush too, if you feel like) they are cheap and worth it. I have heard that even listerine pocket strips work okay if you are not a regular smoker. Good Luck.

My best advice for marijuana smokers with a swab drug test is to not smoke for about seven days prior (even three days is good) drink plenty of water these days before and brush entire mouth and rinse with blue or brown listerine before test. >>works for me<<
IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT WILL BE…keep a travel sized bottle of listerine with or without a toothbrush. Rinse for @ least a minute.(dont swallow)
My friend Mike is a heavy guy that smokes every other day, and he keeps a listerine pocket pack with him at work. He has passed by slipping a few of these in his mouth while waiting for the test to be preformed.

i am 33 years old and 6 and a half feet tall and 280 pounds.i smoke an ounce of a marijuana a month and have been for 15 years.i have a urine test for a job coming up here in a 2 weeks.i havent smoked 4 three days and i cant stand it.ive been drinking tons of water,wine,and cranberry juice 4 the past 3 days as well.im losing my mind not being able to smoke my weed.cant sleep either.i have heard that the bigger u are,the longer it stays in your system because it hides in fat.should i get a liquid cleaner and drink it before my test?should i try to pull it off with someone elses urine?or am i just screwed?if anyone has any suggestions,please help me.thanks,daniel-san diego

if i were u, i would go to local head shop and get some sort of synthetic urine, the brand i use and trust is magnum. It is a small bottle with a temperature strip on front, and a small heating pad. i have used many many times. what i would recommend is heat in microwave or just use pad and at first you will think it is broken because it wont read a temp, this is fine i usually just hold it out of my window on the way to the test. when i see the color change in the bottle at highest temp, 100 degrees, then i place synthetic urine in crotch and body temp will keep it around 94-97 degrees which is perfectly safe. i wouldnt put all of it on 3 days, u will most likely fail. best wishes

The Last time I smoked weed was 24 hours ago. I have a mouth swab test in about 12. That makes only 36 hours. What I have read so far seem to be 24-48 hours till clear time. I am still nervous. I would like to hear from someone on thier experience. Did you pass within the 48 hour limit with just brushing?

OK. I have to do a drug test in 5 days. Does the whole peroxide thing work with doing pills as it does smoking weed or will it only work for smoking. I am going to obviously quit my 5 days prior but i know certain pills stay in your system longer than 3 days were as narcotics only stay 3 days. However..I have also heard that if you use a lot everday it will take longer than 3 days to get it out of your system. Does anyone know? This job is really important to me and I really need to pass this one. Any info would help. Thanks.

i have to take a saliva test tomorrow morning which is wednesday..the last time i smoked was sunday afternoon. i’ve never takena saliva drug test before. so i need to know what i can do to make sure i pass this test…it sounds like the peroxide and brushin your whole mouth will work..but should i do it tonight, or right before i go?

I was on here a couple of months ago asking if anyone had success with STINGER mouthwash to pass a saliva test. Good news everyone, it does. I used it as directed along with drinking 3/4-1 gal. of water and used a product to clean out my urine. I know Dee has said water and cleaning out your urine doesn’t affect a saliva test, but I just want to let everyone know exactly what I did to pass my saliva test. I smoke everyday and I did stop for 4 days before my test. STINGER mouthwash does work for us potheads. So pass it on!

That’s great that you passed, Duston! But if you stopped smoking for 4 days, you would have passed even if you did nothing. On-site saliva tests (which don’t get sent off to a lab for the hyper-sensitive GCS test) only detect use in the past 1-3 days at the most.

i am on felony probation i have been for 2 years over something i never committed was just around, and have 2 more years left. I hear everyone sayin, that swabs r so easy to pass… I have failed 10 of the swab tests i have tried everything from bleach, brushing, peanut butter, and alot more everyone around me passes them like my cousin has failed one and smoked right before he went in and everything they locked me up for smokein pot and i smoked lastnight and a week ago before that and i have a probtion meetin in a hour or so i am kinda worried. so swish peroxide for a minute before i go in and i should be good right???? i dont need to go to jail ne more and not see my beautiful daughter ne will be helpful thanks.. countryman

I had a drug test on Moday and stopped smoking on the Thursday prior. I began to exercise like crazy begining friday, hour of calastenics and running about 1.5 miles every night instead of smoking (very hard at first, I wanted to say fuck it and roll a blunt). Over the weekend I drank maybe 4 gallons of water and 2 gallons of cranberry and ate non fat foods and rasin bran cereal (high fiber) with little milk. The morning of my drug test (4 hours prior) I drank 2 32oz gatorades and refilled them with water and drank those too, (urinating as much as possible) all while every hour I took 2 advil and 3 tums. I was trying to dilute my urine test. I smoke everyday so this was my only choice. I get there and I had to shit and piss like crazy. As I’m holding it in, the employer brings out a saliva test! Fuck! I thought for sure I was doomed… I talked and asked random questions during and was extra friendly hoping that the testor would overlook results just incase, but I passed. Hope this helps.

FYI – i smoked at 530pm in the evening and had a surprise saliva test at 1030am the next day… i had 1 hr advance notice… that morning, luckily i flossed and used listerine whiting mouth wash, brushed… before the test, i ate a lot of sour candy chewed a whole pack of whitening teeth gum. I PASSED!!!!

Im taking saliva test in few days. I have smoked pot everyday for 14 years, the highest grade quality for 12 years. I must have the highest concentration humanly possible. I will have been off the smoke for approx 5 days before test. I brush and floss like mad, drink enough water to kill a whale(or until you feel bloated), 500 mg niacin each day for 3 days(i dont know why i dont really believe it works, im just desperate), hydrogen peroxide when i brush, exercise and sweating. I will also use a saliva drug test mouth wash before taking it. Oh fuq me, im nervous. Wish me luck. I will post the results next week.

As for urine tests, stop being idiots. Get clean urine from someone, hide it in your underwear in slim small container(got mine at REI) so not visible, make sure its heated to 90 or so with heat pack,temp strips work well to show actual temp, and put it in the cup as if it was your urine. wa la you pass everytime. advice: at the test, be friendly, confident, look nice, and be super sneaky. This works everythime, but if they stand behind you or make you change clothes your in trouble. This method works, dont waste time or money on detox crap. They usually fail, and the stress involved in being unsure sucks.

Hey guys I’ve read through all these posts and yea it kinda pisses me off when people don’t post their results like they say they do. I’m a heavy smoker, I’ve been smoking weed every single day about 3 or 4 bowls and I want to apply for this job that I know does swabs. Today is Tuesday morning 2:18am and the last time I smoked was Sunday morning around 2am. I’m going to do the peroxide thing and try and play basketball everyday to sweat as much as I can and I will 4sure post my results of the swab test when I take it I promise.

I forgot to say that I don’t know when the swab test will be because I haven’t applied for the job yet because I don’t want them to test me before my week of not smoking is up. I have heard that if you get pure lemon juice and swish it around in your mouth that it can kill whatever may be potentially threatening for a positve result. And you can also chew big red gum before taking the test. I know it sounds crazy but try it out. buy a “a home test” and test it out to be sure. Big red gum….$2.00….this product $50.00 I think you are better off. Oh and there are different kinds of lemon juice. Make sure its pure lemon juice.

im getting drug tested by probation and they send there swab test to a lab and my po (probation officer) said thc stays up to 2 weeks in the test because it is a goverement test and my friens told me he used to beat the test by rincing with rubbing alchaol (prob spelled that rong on alchaol) is that a smart idea or should i just tell my PO and get vilated but if i get vioated im going to go to jail and i only smoke on the weekends but when i smoke it is that fire and i smoke up to 8 or 9 gs to my self help me u sound like u know what ur doing

my girlfriend has to take a swab test 2marrow morning and not smoked for 24hrs and she was told that lemmon juise helps is this true, and according the comments that brushing your whole mouth and using mouth wash seems to help is this true, or does she need to do anything else.

Hey sorry I never replied but the results came out negative! I passed. I didn’t smoke for a week before the swab test and it worked. A friend from work said he smoked 4 days before and he passed but he doesn’t really smoke that much so I’m guessing if your a heavy smoker you may need a bit more time. I’ve read on the internet that 3 days for a heavy smoker will be fine to pass a swab test but I’m not trying to test that theory unless I buy a test myself and there’s no consequences such as not getting a job. But there’s my results people. I smoke every single day and one week was good enough for me. As for the peroxide, gum, or lemon juice I didn’t try none of that and I’m sorry I don’t have any other answer than to just restrain from smoking. I’m used to just taking a piss test and hiding piss on me but swabs are a Bitch.

Hey everyone! I am not sure if you could pass it with that certain drug, but I am a pot smoker (love it dont hate) and i had to take a mouth swab on Tuesday. I didn’t smoke anything at all Monday. Before you walk in, sit in your car for a second or go in the bathroom and put antibacterial hand sanitizer on the inside of your cheek and lower jaw. Trust me it worked for my friend and I. I am not that heavy of a smoker either; like maybe 10 to 12 bowls a day at most plus I don’t do cigarettes that much either. It sounds kinda gross, but it works really good. All you feel is like a tingle thats it! You can barely taste it really unless you try to lol eww…anyways, I hope that helps a little bit!!

I was told that this job I was applying for did the swab test and let me tell you I have been addicted to pain pills for 2 years so I cant just leave them alone to pass a drug test because I will get sick,so I always have to take pee with me everywhere and never took a swab test so I looked it up on this website before I took the test and took a methadone right before I went there and so I brushed my teeth and gums real good and gargled with peroxide and listerine before I got there and even put some hand sanitizer in my mouth that they had their and I REALLY F-ING PASSED IT.I did not believe it would work but it did!!!Thanks to you I can afford Christmas now!!!
