A saliva drug test is a lot easier to pass than any other kind of drug test, so there’s really no excuse for failing one. But I have a sad story about someone who managed to fail one anyway, and I think it’s a good cautionary tale. It was a situation that could have been avoided SO easily – if this guy had only taken his saliva drug test more seriously.
Ryan’s Saliva Drug Test Fiasco
This all happened a couple of months ago. Ryan bought my e-book on a Monday, and he had a pre-employment drug test coming up on Thursday that same week. The reason I know this is because he emailed me on that Monday with a question after he read my e-book.
Turns out he was having a combination drug test and physical. Ryan’s lab appointment was for 8 a.m. on Thursday, and he mentioned that the instructions he’d been given said for him not to eat or drink anything after 10 p.m. the night before, except for water, plain coffee or plain tea. For some reason (I have no idea why) this made him absolutely certain that he was going to be given a piss test, and he had some questions about that. In his email he didn’t mention anything about passing a saliva drug test, and I could tell it wasn’t on his mind at all.
Weird Saliva Test Requirement?
Now, before this happened I’d never heard of someone being told not to eat or drink anything before coming in for their drug test, so it’s obviously pretty rare. And from everything I know about how to pass a drug test (which is a lot), there’s no hard evidence that what you eat makes a bit of difference in any drug test method. But knowing what I know specifically about how saliva drug tests work, common sense told me that the only possible test it might be required for would be a mouth swab.
So I emailed Ryan back right away and I told him that although I didn’t have any direct knowledge of this requirement, I was 99% certain that he needed to follow the method I give for beating a saliva drug test. I also told him he could prepare for a urine test at the same time if it would make him feel more secure, since the two methods don’t interfere with each other in any way. But it’s just SO EASY to pass a saliva test if you prepare for it, so I really tried to get across to him that he needed to do this, just in case I was right. (And I also reassured him that it is impossible for labs to detect when someone uses the methods I give, so he didn’t need to worry about that.)
A Saliva Test Horror Story…
Well, you can probably already see where this is going. Yup, sure enough, he was given a saliva drug test – which he hadn’t done any preparation for AT ALL – and he failed his test. I have no idea why he didn’t take my advice. False confidence? Maybe a touch of laziness? He sent me another email after he got his test results and admitted that he was a complete idiot for not listening to me. But this is one time when I really would have preferred to be wrong, because he missed out on a really good job as a result of all this.
So, long story short, Ryan and I kept in touch and fortunately things did eventually work out for him I’m happy to say. He finally got another job offer about a week ago, AND he had to pass another drug test. But this time they told him upfront that he was getting a urine test, so he followed the instructions in my e-book for that (again) and passed with no problem. He sounds pretty happy with the job he ended up with, but I don’t think he’d want to go through all that grief again if he had it to do over.
So what’s the moral of poor Ryan’s story? Just that even if passing a saliva drug test is really easy, you MUST take them seriously, folks. You and I know that it’s complete insanity for employers to be wigged out about the humble weed, but the fact is that there are a lot of insane people who pull the strings and decide who gets hired and who gets to keep their job. And like I said before – this sooo did not have to happen, because a saliva drug test is so freakin’ easy to pass.
How To Pass A Saliva Drug Test – The Easy Way
You want to know just how easy it is? Most smokers (not all, but most) can beat a mouth swab test just by not smoking for a few days. But there’s an exception to every rule, and for some reason a few random people will test positive for as long as a few weeks (my guess is it probably has something to do with diet, and not eating healthy). So to make sure you’re not one of the exceptions, I’d still recommend picking up a home test and using it right before your lab appointment, to find out where you stand.
p.s. By the way – if a lab ever gives you instructions not to eat or drink before you go in for a saliva test, JUST IGNORE THEM. They’re only asking because they want to get the most accurate results possible. So if your goal is beat a saliva drug test, why help the lab?

I took molly today (tuesday), and i have a saliva drug test on moday at 6pm. That gives me 6 days. I was wondering which would be best to do for the test: use peroxide every day from now till then, OR wait till the day of it and rinse right before i take the test? I used to think that 3-5 days was the max detection period for mdma but now wikipedia says it can be up to 15 days! I know the type of test i will be taking, its an intercept saliva test. any help will be greatly appreciated and will sport you some good karma

Hey dudes, dudets. Just a thought from down under. I work on the rigs in central Australia. We have mainly random piss testing over here, so my method has always been carrying around with me a small bag of bycarb of soda, not too sure what u guys call it there but I know it’s generally for cooking. I have passed a few tests dropping a few pinches in sample and drinking heaps of water. And yes I am a morning, day, afternoon and night user. Now we have road side random tests in most states on public roads here which is seriously fucked. Any ideas anyone, weather a quick dap of bycarb on the tounge should work? Considering I may have all of about 2 seconds to prepare for test??? Any advise would b well appreciated.

well im supposed to take a saliva test saturday afternoon (its wednesday 4:30pm) so judging by the comments in here im just gonna stop smoking on thursday morning and drink lotsa water and on the day of the test mow a pack of altoids. haha. ive done saliva tests before, just try not to wipe your mouth on it too hard and drink water. should be fine. if they pull the piss test on me though i’ll be fucked, it’ll be a long bus ride back thats for sure.

i had a mouth swab test today, i smoked last night at 10pm but my test was at 1pm today i used a shit tone of listerine and peroxide rinsed as soon as i smoked up until i walked in.
i didn’t place it on my cheek just held it with my teeth and dabbing it with my tongue to kinda get it wet, i will have my results in 3-4 days and i will let you know if this shit really does work.

had a job interview today & never in my life have I heard of a drug test done by mouth swab. You all smoke too much weed. Now for some sanity. The reason that Ryan had to fast prior to his interview has nothing to do with a drug test. This kind of fasting was most likely necessary for the physical he was given and is necessary for lipid/cholesterol/glucose testing. They wanted to see if he was too fat to put on the company insurance policy.
Now about saliva tests. They are basically ineffective against marijuana because the metabolites that they are testing for are lipid soluble and do not show up in saliva. The only reason that they are able to detect weed at all is because of the trace amounts in your mouth that are left over after smoking. Clean the crap out of your mouth and you will be fine.
Amphetamines, on the other hand, have what is deemed a high saliva/blood ratio. This means that they show up in the saliva in GREATER amounts than the blood or urine. The saliva tests are actually more effective at detecting meth use than the urinary tests and have a window of 2-4 days. I have no idea how one would beat these tests on short notice. With a bit more notice you should flush your body by drinking as many fluids as possible. Meth has a high urinary excretion rate, more pissing equals faster excretion. Meth is excreted faster with acidic urine. Urine acidity can be influenced by what you eat. Look up urinary acidifiers if you want to know more, but for what it’s worth vitamin C works as an acidifier and you can take boatloads (The famous chemist Linus Pauling took something like 20 grams/day) with the most likely side effect being diarrhea.

just so you know, with cannabis the saliva test does not detect the metabolites of THC like the urine test will, but it tests for the parent drug(THC) which could only be detectable in saliva for as long as that substance is in your blood stream.
you see, saliva gives you a profile of your blood but in lower concetrations and THC has the lowest concetration in saliva, as compared to other tested drugs (alcohol?)
I just took a swab test yesterday ( 2 actually ) and tested postive for THC. I haven’t smoked in almost 6 months, and I ate 2 weed cookies almost a month ago, so what the hell?! Fortunately, the meth portion of the test was inconclusive ( I don’t even do meth ) and I suggested that the tests might have gone bad or were inaccurate. So now I have to piss test on Monday. Seems I should have passed a saliva test no problem. Perhaps these tests simply aren’t accurate either way. Certainly not in MY case!

Hello, maria. it is my understanding you believe marijuana will one day be legal. well i am sorry to inform you that i happen to know for a fact marijuana will never EVER be “decriminalized”. you see, technically marijuana is already “decriminalized” seeing as how neither us citizens or the government has control over it. Which is kind of what decriminalization is, a standstill between us smokers and our STUPID federal government. we wouldn’t be able to control the tax or prices of it, they would not be able to control the consumption of it (i.e. when you are young and want to drink alcohol, you get somebody who is of age to go to the store and get it for you. the same thing would be happening with marijuana). but i can, however, guarantee that marijuana will one day be “medically legalized federally”. now do not get to excited, because once it does become federally legal, you can expect the requirements to obtain a medical marijuana card to get a lot more strict then what it is now, which for lack of a better explanation, you can today go to California and get your license for having a stubbed toe. This way the government is not in complete control, however, if a doctor is willing to put his license on the line saying that you need marijuana, then everything is controlled. a good movie for a person like you to watch is the union: behind the business. you will find that marijuana does NOT kill brain cells, is NOT addictive, is NOT a gateway drug and many more things. so please, i advise you and many other people to stop advocating the decriminalization of marijuana before you get the facts. thank you for your time.

How do you pass the urine test at the pain clinic if you have thc in your urine. I have less than 15 days to make it work. help
Two steps:
Run 1 (or more) mile each day.
Drink a gallon of water each day. (it can be a pain, but if you’re running a lot it’s easier)
If you actually do this, you should theoretically sweat out a lot of it and the added water will encourage your body to dump the older stuff.
You can also shell out 50 bucks for a cleanse, but those can be risky. Better off sticking to your own physiology
Don’t RUN!! I learned that THC is stored in your fat cells… The tests don’t actually detect THC they detect the enzymes your body produces to break down the THC. When you run you potentially release more THC into your system activating those enzymes. Use fake urine if you can or a cleanser but DO NOT RUN!!! At least not as a last resort. Staying healthy on a regular basis is a different story, if you do not have much fat on your body then you are more likely to pass a drug test, but if you don’t regularly exercise then try to “sweat it out” the week before you will be sorry and you are more likely to fail you test. -

I had a saliva test today that I totally knew was coming. I am a heavy marijuana smoker…smoke as soon as I get up, throughout the day, and right before sleep.
Marijuana is only detected in saliva for 24 hours after the last use. Trust me. I spent hours and hours reading through forums about how to pass it. I literally smoked till about 5pm on Monday and took the saliva test today (Tuesday) around 3:00pm and PASSED! No joke. All I did was stop for those hours and then right before I went in I ate like half a box of altoids and I passed. If I passed it that way then any smoker can. I smoke all day everyday… Quit for that amount of time + some altoids and boom. Clean.
This was a saliva test where you place a sponge on the end of a stick in your mouth for a few minutes and then they squeeze the sample out of the sponge and test it.
Stop researching and wasting time. If you’re only trying to pass for marijuana you’ll be fine doing what I said above. Dont waste your money on any mouth washing detox drink. GET ALTOIDS and stop smoking for at least 12 hours.

Okay so I just took my mouth swab test…The last time I smoked it was Saturday(BC bud but mids)..and before that it was Thursday but I smoked Bubble gum and Sour Deisel..and before THAT nothing for about 3 1/2 weeks. I PASSED THE CHEEK SWAB DRUG TEST!
1 bottle of water 8oz
2 poured out more than half
3 poured 3 packets of emergency C 1000mg in water so that there is a lot of fizz or effervesant like alka seltzer or peroxide
4 i rinsed in my mouth making sure to get in the gum line under tongue, everywhere the swab could be; would swallow then rinse again until it was all done and my mouth still felt the grit of the solution
5 took the test 5 minutes later
And of course when they give you the swab to put in your mouth try to reduce how wet the swab gets as much as possible….which hard but obviously important too

I have no problem quitting for a few days i only smoke like one bowl every evening anyway. i beleive i have the will power to sustain but thay said there will be a random test of one employee per month.I hate my present job and need to change, but this is scarry.I also hold a job that requires a license and if i get caught i will loose that license.MAN WHEN IS THE GOVENMENT GOING TO LEGALIZE WEED ALREADY.

I need to pass a mouth swab drug screen for CPS tomorrow at 4pm. It has been a week since I have smoked and I only took a few hits, before that it was a week and I only smoked about the same. and the last time i smoked was last night. i am a heavy smoker. i smoke atleast 3 blunts a day and have been since i started back in july of 2010
can they tell if someone was under the influence by a cup they were drinking from and can they legally do it without the persons permission
My coworker was suprised by a saliva drug test. The kind that sucks all the saliva out of your mouth. He says he was dirty for marijuana and had eaten one loratab the day before. Its been over a week ago and hes still with us and hasnt heard another word about it. Did he beat it? Or should we be expecting bad news?
All the techniques mentioned here will work for most any drug I’m a avid opiate aswell as THC user and it seems to be ezer for ms to pass the THC then the opiates even tho opiates leave ur system faster there not as soluble in water at the temperature ur body operates at. For piss test put bleach on ur fingers n piss on them into the cup or fill the cup from the toilet if they dye the water just get it directly from the holding tank valve

Has anyone bought the tests and did a real study taking one showing dirty and then after using whatever method and coming up clean?

I swab tested dirty today for cocaine at my pain doctors office. It was four days since i did the blow. I am not a big user (once twice a year) and it was just a random after the bar thing with a few friends.
I am really pissed because I can no longer see that doctor for pain meds and am out $$$ for the visit.
Anyone who isn’t asking a question or posting for fun anymore, and just arguing are seriously the morons here. IMO.

Yo to pass an oral drug test you simply need to become one with the cotton swab. When it enters your mouth make quick friends and learn to embrace each other. He’s only there to do his job and your most likely trying to get one. You must be very careful don’t offend him!

EVERY member of congress should be drug tested DAILY. The few who pass can keep their jobs. LIFE in prison for those who fail. Ya, that seems fair.

Anyway I worry about everything and I recently applied at a job and got it. Now all I have to do is take a swab drug test. I smoked on Dec. 21 and before that I smoked on Spetember 10th so I do not smoke a lot and I took 3 hits off of the blunt on Dec. 21. Everyone keeps telling me I have no worries but seeing as I worry about everything I bought an urine test and passed it but I am still worried that I will not pass the swab test.

I am a heavy smoker who has a swab test in one week. I have smoked for about 20 years and the last 15 yrs I’ve smoked daily. I am thin and have 0% fat (which I’ve heard the more % of fat you have the longer it stays in your system) and I don’t eat very healthily very often. I am going to follow your advice and hope that it works because I have wanted this job for awhile. I will let you know if I pass.
